This course is designed for students with substantial professional experience who seek to further enhance their skills in contemporary business settings. Students will be equipped with systematic and advanced knowledge and skills in research methods, critical thinking, communication, and creative problem solving in complex business settings. Through independent research, students will identify, investigate, and address a complex challenge in their area of business management, organisation management, or farm management and agribusiness. Students will present their findings, demonstrating how their research makes a significant, original contribution to the field of business administration.

Graduates will be able to demonstrate the autonomy, expert judgement, adaptability, and responsibility required to pursue research projects at doctoral level or apply research and critical thinking in professional practice. Employment opportunities for Doctor of Business Administration graduates include, but are not limited to, management or research roles in private or public sector organisations both agribusiness and non-agribusiness, community or public services leadership, or academic and executive roles in the higher education sector.

The course structure is based on six semesters (each semester is 12 teaching weeks, plus one review week and one study week).

• 1 x 50,000-word Doctoral thesis (200 credit points)

To qualify for the award of Doctor of Business Administration a candidate shall accrue an aggregate of at least 240 credit points, including satisfactory completion of the core units.

AQF Level 8 Bachelor Honours 2A degree (or overseas equivalent) in a relevant business field, as determined by the Program Director AND three (3) years of professional experience in a relevant business field.

OR

AQF Level 9 Masters by coursework degree (or overseas equivalent) in a relevant business field, as determined by the Program Director AND three (3) years of professional experience in a relevant business field

Applicants whose entry qualifications were obtained in an institution where English is not the language of instruction normally require an International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) of 6.5, with a score of not less than 6.0 in any of the four skill areas, or equivalent.
