HIGHER EDUCATION PRIVATE PROVIDERS QUALITY NETWORK

Leaders Institute is an active member of Higher Education Private Providers Quality Network (HEPP-QN) which is a collaborative initiative within the Australian higher education sector focused on improving the quality of private providers.

Professor Jane Fernandez, Founding Director of HEPP-QN and Provost of Excelsia University states: “My motivation is the future of young people who are entrusted in our care. The outcomes that we want to achieve, as leaders, cannot be done alone”. She values the leadership philosophy “rise by lifting others”. This philosophy is also reflected in the HEPP-QN’s motto ‘Achieving Together’.

LEAD funds Leaders Institute staff and students to attend HEPP-QN conferences and undertake collaborative research. For example, Vice President Academic, Professor Denise Austin, co-authored :

LEAD also partners with Research and Policy House for joint research and scholarship projects regarding government policy and community contribution. LI’s academic staff are some of the world’s leading scholars in the fields of agriculture, data analytics, commerce, and management.

Professional Development

Consistent with the continuous cycle of review and improvement at Leaders Institute, LEAD runs the annual Professional Development program, in partnership with Academic Board’s subcommittees. They are generally run as workshops on campus and/or via video conferencing. LEAD’s mandate is to develop excellence in higher education learning and teaching to facilitate effective delivery of discipline knowledge to students and the wider community. Academic staff also have the opportunity within the Professional Development schedule to showcase new ideas and innovations.

LEAD also fosters research in high quality, peer reviewed academic publications by providing competitive grants for Leaders Institute academic staff and postgraduate research students to present at academic conferences and produce high quality research outputs. Scholarships and fee subsidies are also available to staff wishing to undertake studies at the Institute.
