Welcome from the Chief Executive Officer,
I believe you chose wisely when you decided to enrol at Leaders Institute. If you have visited our Facebook page, you will know that we have a slogan that says: Be Impactful! Be a Leader! In Accounting / Agribusiness. I am certain that when you graduate you will be equipped to make an impact as a leader in your chosen career.
Many of you will be making multiple transitions. You will be moving away from home, moving to a new country, coming to terms with a new culture, making the transition from school or vocational education to higher education and grappling with the English language as spoken by Australians. Each one of those changes is challenging. To face all simultaneously is a mark of great courage and preparedness to invest in your future. We honour you for that.
As a small higher education provider, Leaders Institute offers opportunities for connection with other students and staff. Apart from the academics, whom you will meet regularly at class, we have specialists who can help with a range of issues including study skills, English language, academic writing and personal challenges such as homesickness and stress associated with assimilating into a new culture.
During your first week, there will be no scheduled classes. Instead, we have developed an Orientation program that will introduce you to life as a Leaders Institute student and help you feel comfortable as a student living in Brisbane. Orientation provides not only a range of necessary information, but also opportunities to meet other students and experience the Australian environment and culture.
Leaders Institute is fully accredited with the national higher education regulator, the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), to whom we report regularly. We are authorised to offer places to international students under the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Thus, our standards are equivalent to those of any other duly authorised higher education provider in the nation.
Please take some time to read through the Orientation program.
My colleagues and I look forward to welcoming you at our campus at 8:30am on Tuesday 26 February for the first day of Orientation.
